Scope Of Work
This Invitation for Bids (IFB) is issued to procure the goods or services, as specified in this Section 2, from a contract between the successful bidder(s) and the State of Maryland (“State”): Provide janitorial services for the Division of Parole and Probation Easton Field and Regional Office located at 301 Bay Street Easton, MD, 21601 a State agency managed under the authority of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
The Contractor shall ensure that the facility is uniformly clean, hygienic, orderly, and maintained in such a manner which will reflect well on the State.
State Staff and Roles A. The State will supply the Contractor with light, heat, power, and hot/cold water for the cleaning of the building. (Note: Hot water temperature is regulated by the State’s energy guidelines and cannot be increased above the current guideline temperature). Building temperatures are adjusted during non-business hours to reduce energy use; workers may occasionally need to dress in cooler or warmer clothing as building temperatures dictate.
B. The State will provide janitorial closets for housing of the Contractor’s equipment and supplies. These closets will be supplied with locks to safeguard the Contractor’s property. These closets must be maintained in clean, neat and orderly condition by the Contractor.
C. Two (2) Keys to the janitorial closets will be issued to the Contractor and will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Should the Contractor or Contractor’s employees lose either of these or any other building keys, the Contractor shall be responsible for the costs of replacing or re-keying the locks so affected. The Contractor shall not make duplicates of any keys issued.
D. A trash receptacle (dumpster) will be supplied for the final disposal of trash collected in the building. The Contractor shall deposit all trash collected in the building in the receptacle provided and insure all lids, doors and other openings to the receptacle are closed and latched
E. If recycle and landfill waste dumpsters are available, recyclable waste must be separated and placed in the recycle dumpster.
