4.0 SCOPE OF WORK & VENDOR’S PROPOSAL CONTENT REQUIREMENTS
4.1 SCOPE OF WORK
The selected Vendor will be responsible for assisting the County with delivering provided soils by vendor to Ann Street Landfill to build a processing area. Cumberland County Solid Waste Management is soliciting proposals for select fill soils to be delivered to 698 Ann Street.
Soil shall be procured by the contractor. The contractor shall identify the borrow source and note the location of the borrow source on the bid form. If borrow source location changes, the Contractor shall notify the Owner before hauling any material.
The Contractor shall be required to produce tickets from the source for each load of soil.
The Contractor shall be equipped and ready to initiate the hauling services immediately.
The Contractor shall not sublet or assign this contract in whole or part without written authorization from Cumberland County.
Contractor shall notify Solid Waste Operations prior to bringing loads. The County needs approximately 7,500 cy of soil delivered.
The County needs approximately 300 tons of Surge Stone NCDOT Std Size
4. a. The bidder is expected to become familiar with, and take into consideration, site conditions which may affect the work and to check all dimensions at the site.
b. Each bidder shall acquaint themselves thoroughly as to the character and nature of the work to be done. Each bidder furthermore shall make a careful examination of the site of the work and inform themselves fully as to the difficulties to be encountered in performance of the work.
c. No plea of ignorance of conditions that exist or may hereafter exist on the site of the work, or difficulties that may be encountered in the execution of the work, as a result of failure to make necessary investigations and examinations, will be accepted as an excuse for any failure or omission on the part of the Contractor to fulfill in every detail all the requirements of the contract documents and to complete the work for the consideration set forth therein, or as a basis for any claim whatsoever. d. Insofar as possible, the Contractor, in carrying out their work, must employ such methods or means as will not cause interruption of or interference with the work of any other Contractor, or County personnel at the site. e. Owner is not responsible for demurrage, detention, or delays in loading
